Lois Szymanski says reading and writing are her favorite things to do! She is the author of sixteen books for young readers, including the new Charming Ponies series out with Harper Collins and a new picture book that is a special charity project illustrated by Judy Grupp. The story of Courage Pockets is going into pediatric units at hospitals across the nation.

Look for Lois’ brand new book OUT OF THE SEA: Today's Chincoteague Pony. This nonfiction book not only shares the history of the ponies, but is the first book to ever show what happens after the ponies leave their wild habitat behind, going home with new owners from across the United States.

Lois ' short stories have appeared in numerous children's magazines, including Highlights for Children , U*S*Kids, Turtle Magazine for Preschoolers and Hopscotch Magazine for Girls .   Several of her stories are in anthologies published by Boyd's Mill Press.

Lois enjoys meeting with children, doing school presentations, and working with
young authors in " The Global Classroom ".  Her goal is to inspire young readers. "I get fired up when I write" she says.  I want children to feel that way, too!

Lois Szymanski also presents writer's workshops at conferences and colleges, and speaks to service organizations, sharing inspirational stories for all ages, especially the true tale of why The Feather Fund ( www.featherfund.org ) was created.
